Cockles and Mussels
Cockles and Mussels, one of the most famous Irish tunes, tells the story of a fish monger who lived in Dublin many years ago. She was (supposedly) a real person, or may have been one of many girls who strode through the streets of Dublin selling their fresh catches of the day. The song has been recorded many, many times and it is shown in this lesson in the key of G. You’ll need these chords: G, Em, C, D, A, and Am. There’s a couple places where the chords get interesting and we will show you these places. The song is easy to play and fun to perform.
