Strumming Tutorial

In this short tutorial we will go over several common types of strums that may be used in many popular songs. It’s one thing to know the chords, and the chord structure, but the song may not sound very good if the strumming doesn’t make the song sound like the “record” – at least a little bit. In this guitar lesson we go over the difference between a 6/8 rhythm and a 3/4 rhythm. You’d be surprised at how many folks don’t know when to play which! Also demonstrated are some of the common rock ‘n’ roll strums, and the popular cowboy music strums. We give examples of each beat and strum along with a partial song that you will easily recognize. This guitar lesson should make your playing easier and much more fun to play your favorite songs.
